Przyemysl is about 15 miles from the Medyka border crossing, about a 4-hour drive from Warsaw. two-thirds of the drive is on excellent highways and one-third is on small one lane village roads (which they apparently insist on using as two lanes).
Meeting a team member Friday morning coming from Kyiv, which is apparently a 10-12 hour train ride. Rental car place canceled the reservation since I was late getting in. Ticked me off as tried calling but they did not pick up. They offered another vehicle at twice the cost. Thought they were trying to juice the American, but turns out it is a practically new (<1000 miles) Nissan SUV. That causes some temptation as the ad hoc aide runners into Ukraine say you need a 4WD as you frequently have to leave the roads to get small cargo loads through. Polish rental car agencies are tracking all their trucks though I understand since so many that were to stay in the EU have found their way into impromptu convoys east.
